Hmm, looks good. Ken McLeod eh?

I was going to read this other left-libertarian sci-fi classic, recommended at a few sites, but I think Ken will get my money instead. Vote with my $$ and all that. That way I will be able to suspend my disbelief and be able to read the book without holding my nose.

    ;-)

    Thanks for the tip.

Also, as flawed attempts to avoid the Mises/Hayekian problem of rational calculation, there are the economic systems of the Ghands in “And then There were None” and the use of records in “The Disposessed”

    Mike,

I purchased my copy of that other sci-fi book used. It was the used bookstore owner who got my money, not the author.

I generally don’t recommend that for books written by living authors that you admire and appreciate though, unless you’re poor like me.

I actually have a copy of The Stone Canal, but I haven’t read it yet. I should read them in order, and I think The Stone Canal is book two in the series.

    Freeman,

Yeah, I’m just being snarky, considering recent events. I’ll likely end up buying a copy, though used or new will depend on how I want to read it – pdfs aren’t good for the bus….
